Departures & Rates

Embark on a 6-night journey to Three Baltic Countries, Lithuania, Latvia and  Estonia and visit three Baltic capitals – Vilnius, Riga and  Tallinn. Begin in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, where your tour includes architectural and historic monuments such as classical Vilnius Cathedral and Vilnius University.  A drive north takes you to Latvia’s capital, Riga, where your city tour features the Old Town sites. Continue to drive north to Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, and discover the historical Tallinn on a morning walking tour. After a cozy evening in the medieval Tallinn, fly home the next day. Day 1 – New York City/Vilnius
Depart New York City by air to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

Day 2 - Arrive Vilnius
Arrive in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and transfer to hotel. Evening free to relax after the long trip. (Comfort Hotel or similar)

Day 3 - Vilnius
Your morning Vilnius city tour includes the most interesting architectural and historic monuments of the 16th through 19th centuries, such as majestic classical Vilnius Cathedral, with a history dating back to the 14th century; the graceful and Gothic 16th-century St. Anne's Church; Vilnius University, founded in 1579; and the Dawn Gate, with a holy icon of the Virgin Mary. This afternoon, you are free to explore the city on your own. (B)

Day 4 – Vilnius/Riga
This morning, take a four-hour drive north to Riga, Latvia, via coach. Private transfer from the bus station to the hotel. Your afternoon is free to relax and explore your surroundings. Overnight in Riga. (Hotel Konventa Seta or similar) (B)

Day 5 - Riga
A morning city tour includes the most significant sights of the Old Town, including the largest church complex in the Baltics - the Dome Cathedral and St. Peter’s Church, Jacob’s Church, the big and the small Guild Halls, and the “Three Brothers” old stone houses. Walk through Albert Street, an area of Art Nouveau architecture where almost every house was designed by architect Mikhail Eisenstein. Remainder of the day free. (B)

Day 6 - Riga/Tallinn
Begin a five-hour drive north to Tallinn, Estonia, via coach. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon to relax and get to know the area. Overnight in Tallinn. (Lermitage Hotel or similar) (B)

Day 7 - Tallinn
A morning walking tour of Tallinn gives you an introduction to the historical Tallinn, which was a rich and prosperous town of Hanza merchants during the 15th century. The tour continues from the Dome Hill (Toompea) to Castle Square, where Toompea Castle, the seat of the Estonian Parliament, faces Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Visit the 13th-century Dome Church and enjoy a breathtaking view from a platform. Stroll along the narrow cobblestone streets down to the Town Hall Square, which features the Gothic Town Hall, one of the oldest in Northern Europe. Afternoon free. (B)

Day 8 – Tallinn/New York City
After breakfast, depart Tallinn by air. Arrive home in New York City. (B)

Optional Tours

$25 per person Grand Duke Palace  without transfers (1.5 hours)
In the reconstructed Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania there are two exhibition tour routes directly related to the historical functions of this residence. The first tour shows the historical and architectural development of the palace by highlighting the ancient ruins still in place and the excavated artifacts, as well, by using models and iconographic materials. The second tour route brings the visitor into the ceremonial halls, which have been reconstructed in such a way as to show the evolution of architectural styles  -- from the late Gothic to the Renaissance to the early Baroque. Includes entrance ticket and museum guide. Transfer to and from the Palace not included.  Duration of the tour:  1.5 hrs.
$180 per person Trakai Island Castle with guide (4 hours)
$130 per person Trakai Island Castle without guide (4 hours)
The guest meets a guide in the hotel lobby and with the private transfer goes to Trakai, the ancient capital of Lithuania, located amidst five picturesque lakes. This town is a witness of the Lithuanian Duke’s time. Right in the middle of Galve’s Lake Island, like a pearl of a rare beauty, sits Trakai castle. Guided tour in Trakai and in the Trakai castle. Private transfer back to Vilnius. Includes English-speaking guide and Trakai Island castle entrance fee. Duration of the tour:  4 hrs.

$20 Riga Canal Cruise (1 hour)
This one-hour canal cruise tour takes you along the canal system of Riga to view beautiful landscapes, magnificent buildings and other attractions.  Cruise on the historical art nouveau style DARLING, built in 1907, or the silent and secure ECO boats REBEKA, LAIMA and MARIA. During the ride on the canal and the River Daugava you will see the most popular sites.  Length of the ride: 1 hr.

$170 per person Latvian Ethnographic Museum with guide and car (3 hours)
The guest meets the guide in the hotel lobby. Private transfer to the Latvian Ethnographic Museum, which is one of Europe’s oldest and largest open-air museums . A guided tour in the Museum: 118 old buildings from all historical districts of Latvia – Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Latgale – built from the end of the 17th century up to the second half of the 1930s, have been relocated, reconstructed and furnished. Farmsteads of Latvian farmers, craftsmen, and fishermen have been created in the museum. Private transfer back to Riga. Duration of the tour: 3 hrs.

$220 per person Tour to Kadriorg Palace with a car/minivan and an English-speaking guide
The guest goes with a private transfer to the Kadriorg Park and the 18th-century baroque palace of Peter the Great.  Kadriorg can be considered to be the grandest example of palace and park design in Estonian architectural history. Originally an imperial summer residence, the palace has been extremely well preserved since the early 18th century. Designed to resemble the Italian palaces of the time, the palace has a facade that is three levels at the front and sides and two levels at the rear in a mix of architectural styles. A further visit to the Convent of St. Bridget in the Pirita suburb and the famous Song Festival Ground. Private transfer back to the hotel/old town. Duration of the tour: 3 hrs.

$200 per person Tour to Estonian Open Air Museum with a car/minivan and English-speaking guide
A  private transfer and guided tour to the  Estonian Open Air Museum, showcasing the country‘s rural architecture and way of life. The 12 farms in the museum provide an overview of how families from different strata of society lived in the 18th to 20th centuries. As you might expect to find in any proper village, there is a church, a tavern, a schoolhouse, mills, a fire station, a shop, and fishing sheds by the sea. You can buy handicrafts, ride horses and try traditional Estonian dishes at the tavern.  Private transfer back to Tallinn. Duration of the tour: 4 hrs.
